The liner is intentionally made larger, with an additional 6 cm added to each dimension, which means there’s a 3 cm fold on all sides. This extra space is essential for effectively containing hay and droppings and compensating for any shrinkage that may occur after washing. This design ensures a perfect, snug fit for your cage, maintaining a clean and orderly environment for your pet, and preventing any mess from escaping the cage or going under the liner.

Our liners are safe and ideal for a wide range of small animals, including rodents, guinea pigs, rabbits, mice, rats, chinchillas, ferrets, sugar gliders, hedgehogs, and degus. They’re designed to provide comfort and safety for all these adorable creatures!

Every day, remove droppings and straw. When it becomes dirty and saturated, replace it. Wash it in a washing machine and let it air dry. Then, it’s ready for reuse.

The frequency of washing the liners depends on the size of the cage and the number of guinea pigs in it. The more guinea pigs and the smaller the enclosure, the sooner the liners will need to be replaced and washed. When you feel that the liner is dirty and saturated, it’s time to replace it.

Guineaqueen® liners are some of the most absorbent on the market. However, after several days, there may still be areas of saturation due to insufficient drying time. We suggest placing pee pads in those areas, which can be changed daily.

No need to worry! Our liners undergo minimal shrinkage, with only a 1% reduction even after multiple machine washes. We recommend having at least two identical liners. While one liner is being washed and dried, you can use the other one.

Some guinea pigs have a tendency to chew on various items, including liners. While our guinea pig liners are designed to be durable, they are not indestructible against sharp guinea pig teeth. If you have a chewer, provide them with other chew toys such as hay or wooden items. If your furry friends continuously chew on their liner, it can cause irreversible damage. If the chewing behavior persists, it is best to discontinue using the liner.

Our liners are not pre-washed, allowing you to use your preferred detergent during the washing process and empowering you with choice and control. It is generally a good practice to wash newly purchased fabric products before using or wearing them to ensure cleanliness and personal comfort.

Before washing the liner, make sure to vacuum and brush off as much hair and hay as possible. However, some hair and hay may still remain on it. That’s why we recommend using the Guineaqueen® washing bag. It’s large-sized and can accommodate multiple liners. The bag prevents hair and hay from escaping while allowing water to flow through for effective cleaning.

While there are numerous benefits, it’s important to consider the potential downsides of using liners. One drawback is the daily task of cleaning droppings from the liners, as they become visible on the surface. To maintain cleanliness, regular washing of the liners in a washing machine is necessary to ensure they remain fresh and hygienic.
